There's a Princess in my Garden again... またお姫様がうちの庭にきました。 うれしいです。

なんか私のニコン55mmレンズで見たら渋いですかね。
カメムシを「お姫様」と呼んで見たら、くさい 臭いを出さないよ、って群馬のあるお祖父ちゃんが教えてくれた。
カメムシの悪臭は、彼ら自身にとっても有害である。瓶の中にカメムシを入れ、つついて臭いを出させたあと、蓋を閉めておくと、死んでしまうことがあるらしい。
強い刺激成分トランス-2-ヘキセナール（CH3-（CH2）2-CH=CH-CHO）です。知らなかった〜だろ！そういう私も知らなんだ。全部文献の受け売りだ。

An old man in Gunma once assured me that if you call them ‘Princess’ then they don’t smell. The Japanese Wikipedia site claims that Stinkbug Professors (now there’s a job for you) can distinguish different species by their pong. It also instructs us that if you trap one in a bottle for a while, then remove the cork and have a good sniff there is a chance that you’ll drop dead. The chemical formula for their ronk is CH3–(CH2)2–CH=CH–CHO, if you’re interested. Not a lot of people know that.
